You may be the sum of your parts,
at least if you count the nature 
of your heart and mind and soul.

You may be the sum of your starts
even if you didn't finish them all but
gave it your heart and mind and soul.

But you are not the sum of your warts
or the sum of your traumas or triggers
and certainly not the sum of your scars.
